I think there should have been some sort of loyalty to the French situation by the residents of France.  I can see both sides of the argument here, but I think the women should not have slept with the protectors of Nazism, even if they were not Nazis themselves, but just German soldiers.

On the other hand, most of these women probably neither knew or cared about the wider war which was raging outside their borders.  A horrible time to live in, for all parties involved, so judging these women harshly is perhaps not the right thing to do.

Note that in the French newspaper who released this story, everybody thinks it is a shame to have blamed those women:
http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualite-france/2009/08/08/01016-20090808ARTFIG00575-un-fils-de-boche-obtient-la-nationalite-allemande-.php?mode=commentaires

I have interesting stories of some of those women:

-Arletty, the most famous pre-war French actress, had an affair with German officer Hans Jürgen Soehring. She was put in jail for a few days and then took refuge in La Houssaye-en-Brie, in the house of some friends of her who were part of the resitance.
Soehring later married and became German consul in Zaire, were he was killed by a crocodile;-)

To the people bashing her, she replied at this time: "My heart is French, but my ass is international".

-Coco Channel, the famous fashion designer (who created the Channel N 5 perfume from the vodka bottle of the russian soldiers while having an affair with Dimitri Pavlovitch Romanoff, grand-duke of Russia) had an affair with the SS officer and spy Hans Gunther von Dincklage. She was saved from being killed in 1945 by the protection of Winston Churchill, which she had known when she had an affair with the duke of Wesminster.

It went right up to the top didn't it.
Great quotes there from Mickey, especially "My heart is French but my ass is international".

If French babes dig foreign guys, then where can I meet them in Munich?
