I would have thought that if the quality of the paintwork is bad enough then the landlord would have to pay. Depends on how long you have lived there.

I have being living there for more than 5 years. I found out that my landlord is responsible for paintwork if it is nothing mentioned in my contract.

Is the landlord/landlady responsible for painting if you have lived there for 5 years and are not moving out?  For instance if you just want your house decorated after living there for 5 years, should you not pay this yourself?
