The thread on designer clothes shops in Munich made me think about shoes.  I am no designer clothes freak but I do like to buy good quality shoes.  They last longer, are more comfortable and can be stylish without being fashionable, which I like.  But where in Munich can you buy good quality shoes?  As far as I am aware Spain and Italy produce the best at affordable prices but is there anywhere here which sells shoes like this?

There is only one address for men's quality shoes in Munich: Eduard Maier! TRaditoonal, high quality, custom made if you want/can afford it but otherwise top shoes from Italy or Hungary plus loads of quality cloth for the gentleman

Hi Starshollow, thanks for the link.  That shop looks perfect for what I am after.  Good to see that these traditional shops still exist.  Hard to find them in the UK.

You know, the older I get, the more I see how cheap and shallow our societies are.  Good old hand-made products are harder and harder to come by.  Sometimes wish I was born in a different era.  Mind you, medicine, population, rights etc were not an improvement in the olden days.

I like the shoe shop from Salamander at the Marienplatz (Beneton) The quality is good and prices are affordable.

Tell me ladies, how important are the shoes a man wears in relation to your first impression of him?
Not noticed at all, a little bit noticed, major impact, a deal breaker?
To me they are things to keep your feet dry and warm.

I guess things like these only matter to a certain type of person. In the grand scheme of things, the quality of your clothing and footwear should not matter unless you are in some sort of profession where appearance counts for something. As for women, do you really want a woman who will judge you by your shoes?

Some people can appreciate good quality shoes because they worth their price. My father always says:" I am not so rich to buy cheap things". I think as well that good quality stuff can not be cheap. 'Gut und günstig' is not existing.

You have a point there. Probably in the long term good quality stuff lasts longer and is therefore possibly cheaper.

Women are often judge men on clothes and shoes. But it is only first impression and than if they are infested in his look they would try to find out more about his personality. It is silly and unfair but, really, men are judging women the same way- on their looks first.

Nothing wrong is with that. First impression is often misleading and after  a while we recognize that clothes and shoes are not all what makes this or that person out.

Good quality shoes it is a sign of self-love. You choose good quality because you love yourself and because the things are comfy. It has nothing to with making impression on somebody with expensive shoes or clothes.

Men who respect themselves prefer to dress stylishly.  No arguments and no debate.  That is the way it is. Munich has some good shoe shops but probably too expensive for you people so I won't even write the name of the shops here.

I see you are still playing the misbehaving schoolboy Anakin. I would not be surprised if most people here earn considerably more than you. What is the salary for McD these days anyway?

I am not sure how important clothes really are to the way a woman perceives a man. Are women really so easily fooled by appearances?
