On Sunday, Deutsch-Irischer Freundeskreis Bayern e.V. organized the 15th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, when Munich-based Irish people celebrate their national saint each year. Approximately 5000 visitors came to see the colorful parade that went from Muenchner Freiheit until Odeonsplatz.
The feast day, which is a national holiday in Ireland, is celebrated on the 17th of March. As it is not a public holiday in Germany, the parade is usually held on the Sunday prior to the 17th.

I didn't end up attending because I forgot the weather was so bad again. Although maybe the snow this year was better than the heavy rain which put me off going last year.

If Saint Patrick had waited a few more weeks before getting rid of all the snakes (not that there were any) then there would have been far better chance of good weather for his parades.

It is a shame with the bad weather, it was rainy for the St. Patrick's Day Parade last year as well. But hopefully, the next days it gets better.
