What a sad story and perhaps a reflection of why people are moving from the UK.

The father sounds like an arrogant old fool as well.  He is going to stay at the property because he won't back down from the youths who are causing the trouble.  I find that remarkably bad as he could hurt the child emotionally with his stubbornness.  How bad has the UK become where this sort of thing can happen.

Can the government not do anything to stop this sort of behavior happening?  I would be very surprised if the police could not step in and take control of the situation and punish those responsible.  What is society coming to if you pay your taxes and get little back from it but bullying and intimidation.
