Do you need to pay when you book, or do you just pay when you arrive at the hotel/check out?
Good link by the way, thanks.

No, you don't need to pay when you book. Normally it is at the end of your stay; when you check out then you pay.

Yes, the prises are reasonable but the hotel is far from the Munich city center and this could be a disadvantage for guests or tourists.

Great link Laneris, thank you for posting it.
Do any of you know if there are any hotels with rooms left during the Oktoberfest?  I think they will all be booked out but could do with finding a double room for some friends who will visit me.  My own apartment is too small.

Try to check in Internet Pension or Gasthaus in Munich. They are generally cheaper than hotels and have decent accommodations http://www.haidhausen.org/pensionen/pension-muenchen-und-deutschland_100212_0.html The prices are ranging from 40 to 60 euros.

Good link.
I shall use that to send to my relatives when they plan to visit.  On the other hand, the cheap prices might encourage them to visit more often, not sure I want that  Shocked

With the connection to Oktoberfest I found that hotel prices and flights to Munich became more expensive at this time. It is amazing how popular around the world our Munich with its Oktoberfest!
