The new browser from Google is available, called Chrome.  Some of the people who worked on Firefox 2 at Mozilla, who were originally from Google, migrated back to Google and came up with this open-source offering.  The launch date is the 2nd Sept (today).  Many new first-time features for a web browser have been implemented into Chrome and it is sure to influence the way other browsers are created in the future.  As it is open-source, everyone can have access to the source code and hence modify or build upon it.

I have installed this and it seems quite good.  Apparently it works best under heavy loading, which makes sense if you consider that each tab has it's own stack, etc, which would not work as efficiently with many tabs open with small sites on them.

I have actually made the Chrome browser crash quite a few times.  I think there is still a bit of work to be done before this is a serious threat to Firefox.

I like Chrome but is there a newer stable version I can download?  Does anyone have any experience of the latest version and can recommend it?
